Juan Martin del Potro is hitting again—and on clay, suggesting he might be aiming for a return during the clay-court season.

A video showed him training in Barcelona, where he has been consulting with Rafa Nadal's doctor on his fractured kneecap.

A week ago, the No. 9 said he would "soon" begin training again. He has been undergoing PRP treatment for his knee, which he injured on court at Shanghai in 2018.

He has not played since, but recently had been testing the knee on an indoor court. It is also possible the choice of surface this week was simply convenience or to avoid straining the knee further.

The Argentine was scheduled to play at Indian Wells, but withdrew from the event and has not announced when he plans to return to competition.
