Grigor Dimitrov has been fined more than $2,000 for allegedly attacking an umpire at a Challenger event in Helsinki last month and could be punished further, putting his Australian Open entry at risk. The Finnish press reported that the 19-year-old Dimitrov pushed umpire Daniel Infanger after loss to Ricardas Berankis and that the two had to be separated by another official. The tournament director said that former junior No. 1 Dimitrov is facing a possible suspension.
"The immunity of the umpire is a sacred thing in sports. You can disagree with calls but this was way out of line," said Finnish umpire Antti Aine.—Matthew Cronin
