Day 10: Buffalo Chicken Sandwich
Where: Heineken Red Star Café
Cost: $17

The Heineken Red Star Cafe, just outside Arthur Ashe Stadium on the South Plaza, underwent a major expansion last year; it now sits atop a gargantuan retail store. The larger digs provide enough space for table seating and service, and there's a small menu of beer-appropriate food such as a half-pound cheeseburger by celebrity butchery Pat La Freida ($17, with fries), housemade guacamole with tortilla chips and tomato salsa ($12), and a lobster roll ($28, with fries… that’s not a typo). There’s also a variation on buffalo chicken wings, this sandwich of stewed chicken in a spicy honey buffalo sauce, topped with bleu cheese and served with waffle fries ($17).
