WIMBLEDON, England—Novak Djokovic has been dominant this season, but that doesn't mean the world No. 1 doesn't admire strokes other players possess.
Asked for the best shots he's played against, the Serb pointed to a few different players in different areas of the game.
"I mean, you want to talk about the serve, then you would talk about probably [Ivo] Karlovic and [John] Isner. Forehands, it would be probably Roger [Federer] and Rafa [Nadal]. Backhands, Andy Murray and [Nikolay] Davydenko had a great backhand. [Tomas] Berdych has a great forehand. Now [Kei] Nishikori has a fantastic backhand.
He also touched on intangibles, saying, "I mean, then you have [David] Ferrer that is a great competitor. He always gives you one ball back on the court."
Djokovic could not name many great volleyers on tour at the moment, but eventually settled on Radek Stepanek.
"Yeah, I mean, Stepanek had and has still very good volleys, a good feel," he said. "There are not many players who come into the net at the top of the men's game that often."
As for the Serb, he is generally considered to have among the best returns and backhand in the game, not to mention his superior flexibility and movement.
