Novak Djokovic’s mother Dijana says her son’s victory in the Wimbledon final over Rafael Nadal and reaching No. 1 is the start of a "new era." She added that after years of hearing the term “Rafa and Roger Federer” now the talk would be just “Novak, Novak Novak!" She also said that after he led Serbia to the Davis Cup title last December, her son was no longer afraid to try and play his best in the big moments.
“Well, if my mother says that, then it's like that," Novak said. "There is nothing else I can say. Mother knows me better than I know myself. After the Davis Cup win I was full of life, full of energy, eager to come back to the tennis court, eager to play some more, win some other tournaments. In a sentence, I lost my fear. I believed in my abilities more than ever."
