Novak Djokovic wants lights installed at the French Open.
The world No. 1 was scheduled fourth on court on a rain-interrupted Saturday at the tournament, and he managed to beat Aljaz Bedene in their fourth-round match just before play would have had to be stopped because of darkness.
"I just hope that soon Roland Garros will at least have lights, at least on the center court and [Court] Suzannem-Lenglen,” Djokovic said. “I mean, for a Grand Slam you need to have lights. I'm really hoping we can have that very soon for these particular situations, especially considering the fact that [the] forecast for the weather is not that great in the following days."
The tournament has been delayed numerous times this week because of wet weather.
"So it's not good for anybody,” Djokovic said. “Waiting the whole day for players, for fans, for tournament organizers.”
The French Open does not have night sessions.
