Young Bulgarian Grigor Dimitrov thumps Rainer Schuettler, 6-0, 6-2 at the U.S. Men’s Clay Court Championships in Houston. A former top-ranked junior, Dmitrov’s progress has been slower than some expected, although he did suffer injuries last year. He has been given the nickname, "Baby Federer."
"I haven't done anything yet," he told the Houston Chronicle. "But it's not easy (to be patient), trust me. When you're No. 70, you are in that gray zone where it's like, 'Come on, man. (Win) a few more rounds, (win) a tournament.' There's definitely a lot to work on, but I'm happy I passed my first match here and I'm looking forward to the next one."—Matthew Cronin
