NICE, France (AP) Alexandr Dolgopolov of Ukraine and Adrian Mannarino of France won in straight sets Sunday to move into the second round of the Open de Nice.

The fifth-seeded Dolgopolov beat Filippo Volandri of Italy 7-5, 6-3 to advance to play Pere Riba of Spain or Guillaume Rufin of France, while Mannarino defeated Somdev Devvarman of India 6-3, 7-6 (7) to next face second-seeded Tomas Berdych of the Czech Republic, who got a first-round bye.

Dolgopolov dropped serve twice, hitting four double-faults and landing only 43 percent of his first serves, but converted four of 12 break points.
