NEW YORK(AP) Television ratings are up from last year for the U.S. Open men's final.

Juan Martin del Potro's five-set upset of five-time defending champ Roger Federer on Monday drew a 2.3 rating and 5 share on CBS. That's up 35 percent from the 1.7/4 for the 2008 final, which was also on a Monday because of rain delays.

Federer needed only three sets to defeat Andy Murray last year.

Ratings represent the percentage of all households with televisions, and shares represent the percentage of all homes with TVs in use at the time.
