DUESSELDORF, Germany (AP)—Duesseldorf is pulling out as host of the ATP World Team Cup after more than 30 years because it cannot find a new sponsor for the May event.

The German organizers say they have not been able to line up a new title sponsor after the withdrawal of the ARAG insurance group.

Duesseldorf has staged the eight-team competition every May since 1978. The weeklong event was always played the week before the French Open and was a major clay-court warmup for Roland Garros.

Tennis has been on a steep decline in Germany since Boris Becker and Steffi Graf ended their careers.
