Wimbledon runner-up Angelique Kerber won’t be in northern California to defend her title this week, but the Bank of the West Classic won’t lack for star power. Seven-time Grand Slam singles champion Venus Williams will headline the field, along with Top 25 players Johanna Konta and the recently-married Dominika Cibulkova.

Wimbledon quarterfinalist Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova and California's own CoCo Vandeweghe will also vie for the first title of the Emirates Airline U.S. Open Series at the Taube Family Tennis Stadium of Stanford University. Varvara Lepchenko, Nicole Gibbs, Alison Riske, Anna Tatishvili and 17-year-old CiCi Bellis round out the American entrants.
