Roger Federer is once again the champion in his hometown of Basel, defeating Novak Djokovic 6-4, 3-6, 6-1 to win the tournament and reverse the result of last year's final.

It is also his 65th title win, moving him one ahead of Pete Sampras for 4th on the all-time list.

After struggling in his first few appearances, Federer has now also won his home title four times. He reacted emotionally to the latest win.

"I hope people know what it means to me that my performances fill the hall," Federer told the 9,200 fans in St. Jakobshalle.

"When the score was 5-1 and I realized I was close to the win, I was almost in tears," he said afterwards. "It was a bit like my first win at the French Open."
