Howdy, everyone. I had a few chores here at Tennis magazine this morning, so I haven't been able to focus on the Pacific Life Open draw (defending champ: Rafael Nadal) , but I'll be looking at it later and making a few comments about the event tomorrow. This will be the post for discussing the draw, as well as today's play in the desert.
We probably will begin live coverage of Indian Wells on Sunday. Andrew arrives on Saturday afternoon and I roll into Palm Springs on Sunday evening. Our game plan is to provide Crisis Center threads every day, where you'll be able to call matches and discuss the events of the day, as well as the usual assortment of standard features and commentary. I'm thinking that Andrew, with his analytical mind, will be handling the daily Crisis Center chores and trying to make sense of the big picture, while I'll be more or less following my instincts, wherever they lead. With any luck, we might get Rolo Tomassi/Andrew Friedman (who will also be in attendance during the main-draw week) to make a contribution as well. I know he'll have some thoughts on his experience out there after the event is over.
