Roger Federer has won Cincinnati, defeating Mardy Fish 6-7 (5), 7-6 (1), 6-4 to defend his title.
It is his first tournament win since the Australian Open.
Federer had to play less than eight sets during the week -- after a bye in the first round, he played only seven games in the second round before his opponent retired with an ankle injury. Federer then recived a walkover from Philipp Kohlschreiber in the third round and won both his quarterfinal and semifinal matches in straight sets.
