SHANGHAI, China (AP) Roger Federer is ready to add Mandarin to the four languages he already speaks.
Federer is in China for the Shanghai Masters tournament. He's using his free time to take a lesson in Mandarin.
The third-ranked Swiss player also speaks German, French and English. Federer admitted he found it ``hard'' but thought he showed persistence.
The 16-time Grand Slam winner added it was fun'' and he
likes languages in general.''
Federer traveled to China without his wife Mirka and one-year-old twin daughters.
