World No. 5 David Ferrer has been named Spain’s Player of the Year by the Association of Spanish Tennis Writers. Ferrer won seven ATP tournaments in 2012, including his first Masters title at Bercy/Paris.

“This season has been the best of career and I will never forget for many reasons,” said Ferrer. “It was a shame to lose the Davis Cup final, but when you fight to the maximum and accept there was nothing more that you can do, the losses are less painful.”
Also honored recently was WTA Chairman and CEO, Stacey Allaster, who has been named to Canada’s Most Powerful Women Top 100 list in the category of Trailblazer & Trendsetter.
