David Ferrer, who was unable to convert a set-and-a-break lead over Rafael Nadal into victory in the quarterfinals of Madrid, said the win could have been a huge boost. Ferrer is now 4-17 lifetime against Nadal.
“The [Miami final] against Murray was a little bit dramatic and maybe not as important,” Ferrer told reporters. “Yeah, it’s true that maybe you have won two matches that well could have been -- well, not change my life, but my career, my tennis career could be a little bit better, yeah.”
