PARIS (AP) Tenth-seeded Mardy Fish of the United States lost to No. 18 Gilles Simon of France 6-3, 6-4, 6-2 in the French Open's third round Saturday, leaving the United States without a player in the men's or women's singles draws.

The last U.S. woman in the tournament, Vania King, lost her third-round match earlier Saturday.

Simon reached the fourth round at Roland Garros for the first time, something Fish was trying to do, too.

The 29-year-old from Tampa, Fla., lost his opening match in three of five previous trips to Paris. But he eliminated 89th-ranked Ricardo Mello in four sets Tuesday, then 54th-ranked Robin Haase in straight sets Thursday.

Fish split the first six games against Simon, before the Frenchman reeled off seven games in a row to take control.
