Julien Benneteau has pulled out of the France's upcoming Davis Cup final against Serbia with a wrist injury.
"After a last try out this morning my wrist has not sufficiently improved," said Benneteau, who played Davis Cup doubles with Michael Llodra earlier this year. "I am very sad to have to announce that I am pulling out of the final."
France is expected to choose Gael Monfils and Llodra as its singles players as Jo-Wilfried Tsonga is already done for the season with a knee injury. Doubles veteran Arnaud Clement is expected to get the call in doubles instead of Benneteau, while Gilles Simon and Richard Gasquet are vying for the fourth spot on the team.
