American teen Frances Tiafoe says he is ready to start playing more ATP tour events following three career title wins on the Challenger circuit.

The 19-year-old won the Challenger in Sarasota, moving up to a career-high No. 72 in the rankings. He plans to play a Challenger event next week, and then switch to playing mostly ATP tournaments.

"I’m up to No. 72 now, but I have final points coming off next week, which is why I’m playing Tallahassee,” he told the ATP tour. “After that, I think I’m going to call it and play as many tour-level events as I can. Until the summer, I don’t have much coming off. Europe, on the clay and grass, is going to be a big stretch for me."

Tiafoe has qualified for three ATP-level events this season, including Miami and the Australian Open, winning two matches. He is the third teenager to win a Challenger this season, and now wants to take the next step.

"I want to make some dents there,” he said. “I’ve definitely established myself at this level.”
