Paris is a worldwide fashion capital, and it's at Roland Garros that tennis pros often pull out the stops as style goes. Case in point: Venus Williams's red-and-black can-can dress, which instantly went on tennis-court fashion's most infamous list. Here are the sartorial winners from the 2015 French Open (for the losers, click here):

Gael Monfils's garb can be optically whelming at times (read: often), but his green with yellow accents plays exceedingly well against the red clay. Asics gets an A here.

The sedated colors in Roger Federer's kit have him looking regal and playful at the same time. No small feat from the GOAT. Game on, Nike.

Let's just say it: Samantha Stosur remains the darkhorse best-dressed candidate at just about every major event on the schedule. Fresh colors, perfect fit. She's had an up-and-down season to date, but her look is always consistent. Advantage, Asics.

Serena Williams revives 2014's U.S. Open cheetah print for her skirting, and as with Federer, the colors lend a soft, delicate look. Nike wins again with this one.

Uniqlo puts out fantastic fashions sometimes, so it's been a bummer to see some of Kei Nishikori's outfitting to date. That said, his polo shirt in Paris is a hit.

The Y-3 Collection from Adidas almost has Ana Ivanovic and Kristina Mladenovic looking like assassins in all-black, and indeed, that's how they've conducted business on the terre battue to date. These dresses reinforce an important style note: Yes, black is a color. (As is white, and yes, Wimbledon waits in the wings.)

Rafael Nadal sort of looks like a can of blue paint splashed on what was all-white gear, but Nike's monochromatic-turned-fade motif ultimately works. It probably wouldn't fly on the form of a player with less tenacity and presence on court. Rafa rocks it.

Also in Nike, Petra Kvitova wears what has fast become one of the Spin's favorite looks on her to date. The colors complement her skin tone, and ultimately, everything falls into place, as with her game so far at the French Open.

Stan Wawrinka, in checkered shorts the color of which somehow drum up yesteryear's Norwegian curling pants, proves a style champion at this second Grand Slam event of the year. Kudos to Yonex, as this has become the Spin's favorite men's style of RG15. Qualifier Yoshihito Nishioka also sported this look but was quickly blasted off court by Tomas Berdych in the first round.

Decked out in a barrage of Nike pink, Victoria Azarenka comes off fresh and comfy in her long-sleeve tee, bandanna, and shorts (!) combination. We dig it. We really dig it. And it's just plain great to see her back near the top:

Maria Sharapova, predictably, arrived in Paris as the portrait of class on court. Her horizontal stripes up top and blue-gray skirt look like Nike took a page from the J.Crew preppy-cool playbook. Says here it's the best women's look of the event.

Tomas Berdych himself punches up his H&M style game with orange and blue that make his 6'5" frame pop against the clay. The Spin usually dislikes this shirt color in Paris (it can be a bit matchy-matchy with the court), but the blue takes it up a couple notches. In any case, any supposed fashion rules are made to be broken.

Venus Williams's purple-on-white design from her own line, EleVen by Venus, was a clean winner. It almost makes for a dress one could wear away from the courts as well, at an al fresco summer party. Unfortunately this frock didn't see the sun for long, as the seven-time Slam winner lost in the first round to Sloane Stephens.

Pretty in pink, Eugenie Bouchard didn't muster much of a fight in falling to Mladenovic in round one. Nike's loss, but everyone knows she'll be back for more this season.
