SANTIAGO, Chile (AP) Santiago Giraldo of Colombia reached his third quarterfinals this year when he beat Igor Andreev of Russia 7-6 (7), 4-6, 6-2 at the Movistar Open on Thursday.

After missing four break points in the second set, the eighth-seeded Giraldo dominated the last set to finish off Andreev in just under 2 1/2 hours.

No. 5 seed Potito Starace defeated Pablo Andujar of Spain 6-4, 6-1 for a fifth straight time.

In late matches, top-seeded David Nalbandian played fellow Argentine Horacio Zeballos, and No. 4 Juan Ignacio Chela of Argentina was up against Caio Zampieri of Brazil.

Three other seeded players reached the quarterfinals on Wednesday - defending champion and third-seeded Thomaz Bellucci, No. 6 Tommy Robredo and No. 7 Fabio Fognini.
