Tommy Haas, who outlasted John Isner, 7-5, 7-6 (4), 4-6 (4), 6-7 (10), 10-8, in four hours and 36 minutes at Roland Garros, says he’s in favor of a fifth-set tiebreaker at all the Grand Slams. The U.S. Open is the only major which uses it.

“You look Isner [and] Mahut’s match [at 2010 Wimbledon which ended at 70-68 in the fifth set] and they had to come back the next day to play,” he said. “Makes no sense if they play a fifth-set tiebreak, I think they both have a better chance to come back and play a good tournament. If you’re two sets all and 6-all, and just play tiebreak and see who is better player today instead of going that long. But then you wouldn't have the epic matches going that long, I guess. I’m all for the tiebreak in the fifth.”
