The 'Hit for Haiti' fundariser taking place at Rod Laver Arena on Sunday raised over AU$200,000 to benefit victims of the Haiti earthquake.

The light-hearted doubles match featured, at various times, Roger Federer, Serena Williams, Rafel Nadal, Novak Djokovic, Andy Roddick, Sam Stosur, Kim Clijsters, Lleyton Hewitt and Bernard Tomic.

Tickets for the event cost AU$10. the 15,000-seat arena was sold out, and about 5,000 people watched from the grounds. AU$20,000 was raised by donations given inside the stadium, and Maria Sharapova donated $10,000. The event was also broadcast on Australian TV and streamed online, with viewers directed to websites where they could pledge money.

In addition, weekend titlists Marcos Baghdatis (Sydney) and John Isner (Auckland) donated $5,000 of their winnings to charities involved in recovery efforts in Haiti.
