Christian Harrison has been cleared to work on his fitness and could be hitting tennis balls in the next month or month and a half, said his older brother, Ryan.

“From there, it’s going to be a matter of how well he progresses from match play and if there are any setbacks,” he told TENNIS.com.

Injuries have been ever present in Christian Harrison’s career. At the end of 2013 then into 2014, the 20-year-old underwent four surgeries, to his hips, shoulder and wrist.

“Hopefully there are no setbacks and it only takes him a month, month and a half to be playing matches and to be ready to be playing tournaments," Ryan Harrison said.

“It could be as early as this summer, but it’s a little ways away because you have to be extra cautious given his injury history.”

Christian Harrison won his first ATP match as a teen in Atlanta in 2013 and combined with his sibling to reach the U.S. Open doubles quarterfinals in 2012.
