Ryan Harrison has won his first challenger title, defeating Alex Kuznetsova 6-4, 3-6, 6-4 in Hawaii.

Harrison, 18, lost in the first round of the Australian Open after winning the wildcard playoffs to get into the main draw. Winning a major is his long-term goal.

"Obviously I've got a long ways to go, a lot of work to do," he said. "It doesn't matter who I play, I'm going to go out there and try to win. I'm always going to have the confidence that I can win, so you never know what I can do. But I'm definitely setting my goals high"

Harrison won the last four games of the rain-interrupted match despite getting frustrated at officials for not starting the match earlier when rain was forecast.

"The thing with Ryan is he doesn't give you many free points. He stayed on me when I missed a few shots there," said Kuznetsov.

Harrison also defeated Michael Russell and Ryan Sweeting on his way to the title.
