Hewitt to play Monfils in Kooyong Classic final

MELBOURNE, Australia (AP) Lleyton Hewitt of Australia advanced to the final of the exhibition Kooyong Classic on Friday by beating Nikolay Davydenko of Russia 6-3, 7-6 (3).

Hewitt will play Gael Monfils of France, who beat Jurgen Melzer of Austria 2-6, 6-2, 7-6 (4).

Earlier on Friday, Melzer defeated Frenchman Jo-Wilfried Tsonga 8-6 in a pro set in a second-round match that had been delayed due to rain in Melbourne.
