Martina Hingis and Anna Kournikova will play the women's seniors doubles at Wimbledon this year. Havng once been the No. 1-ranked doubles team and likely to be significantly younger than most of the other competitors, the 29-year-olds should be strong favorites to win the invitational event.
Hingis has shied away from talk of a proper singles comeback but will not rule out the possibility of playing some doubles on the WTA tour.
"I've been hitting some balls, trying to keep myself in good shape. I haven't been playing much the last two years, just a few exhibitions here and there," Hingis told ESPN.com last week. "At this point I'm not considering coming back. I'll see how all of it goes first; the exhibitions, the team tennis, and then … singles would be very difficult. Maybe some doubles."
