Hsieh Wimbleodn Mixed

LONDON (AP) — Hsieh Su-Wei is leaving Wimbledon with a trophy for the fourth time in her last four appearances.

After her winning streak in the women’s doubles ended in the semifinals, Hsieh teamed up with Jan Zielinski to win the mixed doubles final on Centre Court on Sunday, beating Mexican duo Santiago Gonzalez and Giuliana Olmos 6-4, 6-2.

Hsieh served out the match at love when Olmos sent a return long, then took a selfie with her partner as they sat in their chairs waiting for the trophy presentation.

Hsieh has won four Wimbledon doubles titles, including the last three times the Taiwanese played the tournament—in 2019, 2021 and 2023. The 2020 edition was canceled because of the pandemic, and Hsieh was injured in 2022.

This was her first mixed doubles title at Wimbledon, although she and Zielinksi also won the Australian Open this year.

"It's a privilege to be on the court and even bigger privilege to win on the court," Zielinksi said in their post-match press conference. "Su-Wei has done it a couple of times before in the past. Her experience helped us to get back on Centre Court after the second round, get through some tough matches.

"I couldn't be more proud of us and how we fought and how we cooperated together."

The mixed doubles final was played on Centre Court after Carlos Alcaraz beat Novak Djokovic in the men’s final, and was the last match to finish at this year’s tournament.
