Iga Swiatek kept her perfect start to the WTA Finals going on Wednesday, following up her 7-6 (3), 6-0 victory over Wimbledon champion Marketa Vondrousova from two days ago with a 6-0, 7-5 victory over US Open champion Coco Gauff.

She's now 2-0 in her round-robin group, and 4-0 in sets.

But her victory over Gauff gave her another very impressive, bigger-picture feat—it was her 65th win of 2023, and combined with her 67 wins from 2022, she’s the first woman to record 65 or more tour-level wins in back-to-back seasons in 15 years.

The last woman to achieve the feat was former No. 1 Jelena Jankovic, who recorded 72 wins in 2007 and 65 wins in 2008.

The last woman before that was Martina Hingis in 1999 and 2000.

Swiatek is the first player, male or female, to record 65 tour-level wins this year.

Swiatek is also the first player—male or female—to get to 65 wins this year, just ahead of Carlos Alcaraz (63) and Daniil Medvedev (64), who both lost their opening matches in Paris this week.

The world No. 2 could potentially get up to 68 wins this year, which would be a new personal best. She has up to three more matches at the WTA Finals this week—her third round-robin match on Friday against Ons Jabeur, and then potentially the semifinals and final.

Swiatek has a 4-2 head-to-head record against Jabeur, which includes winning their last three meetings in a row, most notably a straight-set victory in the 2022 US Open final.
