Justine Henin-Hardenne took part in a round-table conference with reporters in Madrid on Monday.

  • "To be here was the main goal. I didn’t come to be No. 1. I didn’t play the tournament the last two years and was frustrated. I thought this will make it three in a row, but I started the rehab quickly and could make it."
  • "I’m not as tall or as strong as the other ones, so I have to work harder to achieve my goals. I came to understand that in the last years. The tour is demanding for our bodies. I don’t know the solution. When they find it, I won’t be playing any more."
  • "I think I’ll play two years more, if my own body lets me do that... I still think my best tennis is still to come."
  • "I don’t think of the three Grand Slam finals I have lost. You have to look at the positive side of things. I would have never thought in January that I would be playing all the Grand Slam finals. It’s been my best year so far."
  • "The last part of the year is not the best for me. Playing indoors, and tired, doesn’t help my game. Being here is a victory as I see it."
