The Israeli Davis Cup team of Dudi Sela, Harel Levy, Jonathan Erlich, Andy Ram and captain Eyal Ran is scheduled to arrive in the Chilean city of Coquimbo on Wednesday and has the option of asking for a postponement of the tie.
Due to last weekend's earthquake, the Israeli team was unable to arrive in Chile as scheduled and has been waiting in Buenos Aires.
The tie is scheduled to begin Friday, which would give Israel only two days to train.
"So far the only thing clear is that the authorities and the Israeli team will travel from Buenos Aires and that they will arrive shortly before noon to Coquimbo on Wednesday, "said Chilean Tennis Federation communications chief Rodrigo Valdebenito.
“The postponement would be because Israel has the right to train at least four days prior to the start of the tie. The series could be postponed until Saturday or Sunday. In theory, the Israeli team may ask for that, but we still do not know what they think of this. We won’t know until they get to Chile."
