ZOETERMEER, Netherlands (AP)—Italy advanced to the World Group of the Davis Cup on Saturday, winning the doubles match for a 3-0 lead over the Netherlands in the playoffs.

Simone Bolelli and Potito Starace beat Robin Haase and Igor Sijsling 4-6, 6-3, 7-6 (5), 6-4. The Italian pair had each won their singles matches on Friday.

Haase hit long two consecutive volleys to allow the Italians to break in the final game of the match.

The win gave Bolelli and Starace a 6-0 Davis Cup record this year, having won singles and doubles against Belarus and the Dutch.

Italy, the 1976 champions, has been Davis Cup runners-up six times. The Dutch team has made it once to the semifinals.
