Ivanovic again working with coach Nigel Sears

It looks like Ana Ivanovic is once again working with her former coach Nigel Sears. The news was first reported by former player and broadcaster Anne Keothavong:

After struggling during the winter and spring, Ivanovic let go of coach Dejan Petrovic in May. Ivanovic decided to work with Adidas consultant Mats Merkel, who reached the semifinal at Roland Garros. However, Merkel is unavailable to work solely for individual players so after Wimbledon – where she lost in the second round against Bethanie Mattek-Sands – Ivanovic tried to find a coach that she knows well.

The No. 6 Ivanovic worked with Nigel Sears for two years between July 2011 to July 2013. She split with the British coach after losing to Genie Bouchard at Wimbledon. Sears has coached a number of players, including Daniela Hantuchova, and his daughter, Kim Sears, is married to Andy Murray.

Ivanovic, who has been training in Spain, said she is lacking practice.

“Before [the] French, I spoke about this.  I changed my team a little bit.  My fitness wasn't at all at the level I wanted it to be,” Ivanovic said after she lost to Mattek-Sands at Wimbledon.

“I really worked hard and tried to get [my] level up. I played really well. Since then I've been working really, really hard. I felt like I improved a lot. Also I was working a lot throughout the tournaments. Actually now I'm looking forward to have sometime off and do proper preparation because that's what I've been lacking. I've been playing catch‑up in that area since a while. I have lots of changes within the team. Now I feel like I have solid base. But I just need time to first rest, refresh, and then work hard for it.”
