On the heels of her unceremonious Wimbledon ouster, Ana Ivanovic took to Venice with her boyfriend of two years, Bastian Schweinsteiger. Ivanovic and the 31-year-old Manchester United soccer player were rumored to be planning to wed around this time of the year.

To that end, this season's whisper-fest turned into a reality when they emerged from Venice City Hall as husband and wife. The couple are set to have a church ceremony on Wednesday.

The freshly married pair was positively glowing, and their respective sporting organizations sent their best respects to boot.

Ivanovic was bundled out of Wimbledon's opening round at the hands of Ekaterina Alexandrova, and by a 6-2, 7-5 score. She later said a wrist injury affected her showing. Despite the loss, she held onto her No. 25 WTA ranking this week.

But now back to her love play: Away from any tennis courts, Ivanovic wasn't to be outdone this week by Dominika Cibulkova, who married over the weekend. The bride wore a gorgeous, flowing white gown and carried a bouquet of white flowers. Her groom opted for a navy suit with open collar. This is real-life mixed doubles, and it's beautiful. There is nothing more to say.

American rising star Taylor Fritz also tied the knot in the last week, marrying fellow 18-year-old Racquel Pedraza in Santa Monica.
