Almost three years after she purchased a property in an exclusive community in San Diego County, California, former No. 1 Jelena Jankovic is almost ready to move in.
Jankovic bought in ritzy Rancho Santa Fe in 2009 and began construction on a 20,000-foot house with a pool, eight bedrooms, a 10-car garage, gym, tennis court, and theater in 2010. She was planning on moving in by the end of 2010, but construction was delayed. She visited the property on Thursday as she is playing at the nearby Mercury Insurance Open and says it should be habitable by the end of this year as only "the furniture is not there yet."
“[But] it was nice to see the improvement. I'm always on the road, so my dad is spending a lot time here helping out, helping with the work. Looks great so far. I am quite excited. It's just so beautiful. Just traveling around here is amazing. I really love it, so I cannot wait. While I'm playing I'm going to be all over the place. I'm traveling all the time. But when I stop, when I finish my career, probably going to spend a lot of time here."
