Defending BNP Paribas Open champion Jelena Jankovic thinks she has turned the corner on her poor play at the end of the 2011 and the start of this year, largely due to the work with her new coach, Andrei Pavel. Jankovic recently reached the semifinals of Dubai and the final of Monterrey and believes she can make a push at Indian Wells again.
“We started working in December for a little and then after Australia we really worked hard for a month to develop my game again," she said. "I’ve improved some things and I’m starting to feel confident again and I feel like I’m on the right track.”—Matthew Cronin
