Jannik Sinner has confirmed he has split with longtime coach Riccardo Piatti, and appears to be on the cusp of organizing a new team.

The 20-year-old Italian had been rumored to be considering a coaching change, and has now announced that he will no longer be working with any of his team at the Piatti academy in Italy.

"I would like to thank Riccardo [and Piatti academy team members] Dalibor, Claudio, Andrea, Cristian and Gaia for everything they have done for me since the beginning of my career until today," Sinner said in a statement on social media.

"Riccardo especially, he taught me many things that will forever remain a part of my tennis."

Piatti had coached Sinner since he began playing tennis full-time at the start of his teens, and the veteran coach has also trained Ivan Ljubicic and Milos Raonic.

"I will always look back the time we shared fondly," said Sinner.

The world No. 10 has been hitting with former player Simone Vagnozzi in Monte Carlo, and there is speculation in the Italian press that he could also bring on Magnus Norman, former Grand Slam finalist and coach of three-time champ Grand Slam Stan Wawrinka.

Though he's had a 7-1 start for the season, the youngest player in the Top 20 fell in straight sets to Stefanos Tsitsipas in the quarterfinals of the Australian Open. Sinner previously withdrew from this week's event at Marseille and is scheduled to compete next week at the 500-level event in Dubai.
