Jim Courier will be the new U.S. Davis Cup captain, the USTA has announced.

"I think it's a great honor first and foremost. And I think it's a great challenge. And I think it's going to be a lot of fun," Courier was quoted saying by USA Today.

It was also reported that Andy Roddick will be available for Cup duty again next year after sitting out this season.

Writing on his Twitter account,Roddick described Courier's nomination as a "great choice."

The former No. 1 and two-time Davis Cup winning team member replaces Patrick McEnroe, who led the team to the Cup in 2007 and is giving up the reins after ten years in the post.

"I'd really like to emulate what he's done as far as the team fellowship he built the past decade," said Courier.
