Andy Murray plans to play his scheduled charity exhibition against Roger Federer in the offseason, his mother, Judy, confirmed while participating at a kids coaching session.

"He's going to be fine by then," she told *BBC Scotland*, but also said the three-time Grand Slam champion had not yet set a date for his return to tour.

Murray recently announced he was withdrawing from Beijing and Shanghai, and would "most likely" miss his other scheduled events this season, Vienna and the Paris Masters.

"I think that's the sensible thing to do because you never know how your body is going to respond," said Judy Murray. "It's quite a different thing playing exhibition matches to playing on the tour, where you have to win five matches to win a tournament."

But she added that Murray was keen to return.

"He's carrying on his rehabilitation at the moment, doing everything he can to get back into shape," she said.

Murray has dropped to No. 3 in the rankings.
