Andy Murray’s mother Judy hopes that her son’s Wimbledon title run encourages more kids to play in their hometown of Dunblane, Scotland.

“I was glued to Wimbledon since I was a little girl, and then I was thinking, God, my son has just won Wimbledon -- and of course Jamie won a Wimbledon title a few years before that -- and this is where it started our little club,” she told CNN’s Open Court. “And hopefully its going to inspire a lot more kids to pick up tennis and certainly in the local area to come down to our little club.”

Andy's grandmother, Shirley Eskine, added her competitive grandson wasn’t always thrilled with his grandfather Roy’s style of play when they hit together.

“Andy used to complain that his grandpa didn’t play properly and he used to stamp his foot and say, ‘Hit the ball properly grandpa,’ because my husband used to do little funny, twiddly shots that drove the boys up the wall.”
