Kanepi scores a first for Estonia

Kaia Kanepi has become the first Estonian to win a WTA event, defeating Flavia Pennetta 6-4, 6-3 to take the title in Palermo.

Kanepi, a former Top 20 player, reached the quarterfinals of Wimbledon as a qualifier earlier this month. "I'm very happy to win my first career title. This is the best moment of my career," she said.
