Germany’s Angelique Kerber, the Czech Republic’s Petra Kvitova, and Italy’s Sara Errani have qualified for this year’s WTA Championships, to be held October 23-28 in Istanbul, Turkey. The three join Victoria Azarenka, Maria Sharapova, Agnieszka Radwanska, and Serena Williams in the singles tournament.
With seven players already qualified, four players remain in contention for the final singles berth: Li Na, Samantha Stosur, Marion Bartoli, and Caroline Wozniacki. If Li wins her quarterfinal match in Beijing over Radwanska and Bartoli loses to Carla Suarez-Navarro, Li will take the eighth spot.
