Koellerer to make Davis Cup debut

Daniel Koellerer will make his Davis Cup debut in Austria's upcoming Davis Cup zonal tie against Slovakia.

Because of the objections of other Austrian players, Koellerer had not previously been selected to play despite a singles ranking higher than some members of the squad. Koellerer, nicknamed 'Crazy Dani' and known on tour as a volatile presence, is now the second-highest ranked Austrian at No. 74.

Koellerer has pulled out of Acapulco to prepare for the tie.

The Austrian team will consist of Jurgen Melzer, Koellerer, Martin Fischer and Julian Knowle.
