Petra Kvitova has been criticized by a Czech politician for relocating from the Czech Republic to Monaco.
Kvitova moved to the tax-free principality about 10 months ago, joining compatriots like Tomas Berdych and Lucie Safarova.
''I think that we should all have a long and hard think about the fact that if someone leaves the Czech Republic and becomes a member of another state, then they should lose their Czech citizenship,'' said Social Democrat MP Stanislav Huml.
On Friday, a man was arrested in the Czech Republic for apparently threatening Kvitova, though Czech tennis spokesperson Karel Tejkal said there had been no direct contact with the Wimbledon champion and the "police were very good."
Police did not specify that Kvitova was the target of the threats, only that they were made against a "publicly known person" in a phone call to another person. It is not known whether they were connected to the political criticism Kvitova has been receiving in the Czech Republic.
