Petra Kvitova, who discovered she had mono right after Wimbledon, says she feels significantly better but is not quite 100 percent.

“I’m able to practice a little bit more than I did when I found out after Wimbledon,” she told TENNIS.com. “It’s on the good way so I can practice more. I can practice everyday, so that’s good. Practices still trying to find balance with the physical part and the tennis part. On balance, everything is going well.”
Since July, the 25-year-old Kvitova has not able to practice normally, and while she lost early in Toronto and Cincinnati, she managed to win New Haven and reach the quarterfinals at the U.S. Open. But the two-time Grand Slam champion lost early in Wuhan and Beijing and once again said she wasn't feeling well.
“I was waiting for my doctors, what they were going to say,” Kvitova said before the WTA Finals in Singapore. “They said I’m still able to play. They think that the matches are not that physically tough as the preparation is, probably.

“Of course all the matches are very tough. I had the one in Wuhan in the first round, and I just couldn’t recover as fast as I normally do. It took me a little while to be back again. I was just waiting what they were going to say. They let me play, so that’s why I’m playing. If they would have say I should stop for the rest of the season, I will. But I’m here, so that’s good.”

Kvitova is in the White Group at the WTA Finals and will face Angelique Kerber on Tuesday.
