Kyrgios unsure about schedule following Australian Open -- "I don't even know what tournaments there are."

Nick Kyrgios re-announced himself in a big way at the Australian Open, but he isn't sure when he'll next show up at a tournament again.

The 25-year-old Australian revved up the crowds during his five-set win against Ugo Humbert in the second round and again when he went down to third seed Dominic Thiem in another five-setter. But he expressed doubt about playing other events, where there would be little to no crowds and uncertain quarantine requirements for players.

"I'm used to playing in front of packed stadiums. I'm not gonna force myself around the world when the time is not right, where I have to quarantine for a week and then play. I don't know," Kyrgios told press following his defeat to Thiem.

Kyrgios has chosen to stay in Australia rather than compete in tour events elsewhere since the start of the coronavirus pandemic. His appearance at this week's Australian Open and an ATP event the week before were his first events for more than a year.

Shaking off his singles defeat, Kyrgios returned for doubles the next day with Thanasi Kokkinakis -- a match played with no crowds because of a five-day lockdown in Melbourne. That only seemed to back up his doubts.

"I want to be able to play in front of full crowds around the world," he said following his doubles win. "That's what I'm used to, and I was a bit -- talking to Thanasi when I was on the doubles court, I was like, 'I don't know if I'm able to do a full schedule with doing this stuff.'"

Even if he does play again this season, he doesn't know where he might turn up. The ATP has a full schedule following the Australian Open, though some events have been moved.

"I don't even know what tournaments there are, like, I have paid no attention to what I'm playing," Kyrgios said.

Kyrgios is No.47 in the rankings.
