What was life like for Marcus Willis before he became Wimbledon’s darling?

We know that the 25-year-old Brit, who shocked Ricardas Berankis in straight sets in the first round in London, lives with his parents and is a tennis instructor who charges about $40 an hour for lessons.

We also know that the left-hander is ranked 772nd in the world and, until his triumph on Monday, he had earned a measly $292 in prize money this year.

After his unfathomable victory on Monday, Willis admitted to reporters that during a particularly rough stretch of his career he sustained multiple injuries and was “a bit of a loser” and “overweight.”

Video has surfaced of Willis on the ATP Challenger circuit from November 2014, and it’s quite a scene to behold. Adding to his legend as "Cartman," Willis eats a Snickers and drinks RC Cola during changeovers in a win over Tennys Sandgren.

“This is all a joke,” the commentator said. “I feel like this is a put-on, right?”

The analyst proceeds to refer to Willis as “Cartman,” the heavyset character from the television show “South Park.”

The footage is from an ATP Challenger tournament in Knoxville, Tennessee. Willis would beat Sandgren, but fall in the quarterfinals.

What's “Cartman" up to these days? He's facing some guy named Roger Federer in the second round of Wimbledon.

The world will be watching.
