Gael Monfils has pulled out of the Hopman Cup with a knee injury, clearing the way for fellow Frenchman Nicolas Mahut, who will now face John Isner for the first time since their record-breaking match at Wimbledon. Mahut and Isner are scheduled to play on January 3 at the Hopman Cup, which is a mixed team event.
