Lleyton Hewitt may have lost out on a quarterfinal berth at Wimbledon at the hands of Roger Federer, but the former champion at the All England Lawn Tennis Club has been a winner in the family circle for at least a trimester now.

Hewitt and his wife, Bec, revealed to OK! magazine after months of speculation that they are expecting their second child, due in January. They are already proud parents to daughter Mia, now two years of age.

“We’re both very excited," Bec said.

The “Home and Away” soap star is quite the celebrity back in their native Australia and magazines are quick to report on her life, having pegged her as being preggers since January of last year. That along with her husband’s on-court success has led to much off-court attention for the couple. Reports of her wearing loose-fitting clothing and photographs of her leaving a hospital were already out before the news was officially confirmed.

But the attention doesn’t seem to faze the mild-mannered actress as she continues to be a fixture in the player's box and travel on the tennis tour alongside her husband, who has admitted that her presence and that of his daughter help his game.

“It’s a lot easier for me, having them with me when I’m playing,” Hewitt said during the interview.

“If it was too much of a strain for Bec and Mia to travel, it would make it a lot harder for me to go out there and compete.”

While Bec divulged more to the magazine about their plans and on how Mia will be a handy little helper with the new baby, Hewitt, not surprisingly, was less vocal.

He did confirm the news during his post-match press conference on Monday, but when asked about how he felt becoming a father for the second time, his only reply was, “Yeah, good.”

Hewitt joins doubles specialist Mark Knowles in the recent baby announcements. Knowles and his wife, Dawn, welcomed their second son in Dallas just before the Championships began.
